SkillRISE Regional Convening Recap & Program Overview

On October 17, 2025, UC Merced’s Division of Professional & Continuing Education hosted the SkillRISE Regional Partner Convening at CSU Stanislaus, bringing together over 25 industry leaders, educators, and workforce development professionals from the Northern San Joaquin Valley. The event focused on expanding free workforce training in project management, manufacturing, and renewable energy for both employees and high school students.

• Regional collaboration for clean energy and manufacturing training
• Demonstrations from Riipen Inc. on project-based learning
• Enrollment pathways for free certification programs funded by the North Valley THRIVE Catalyst Grant

The SkillRISE initiative empowers regional employers and educators to co-design training programs that meet evolving industry needs—building a stronger, more resilient workforce across Merced, Stanislaus, and San Joaquin counties.
